Food we Ordered
Diavola ($29) – Spicy Salami, Mozzarella, Chilli Oil
The Diavola pizza with its generous sprinkling of spicy salami, melted mozzarella, and a drizzle of fiery chili oil was a flavor-packed delight. Each bite delivered a delicious combination of meaty goodness and a delightful kick, making it a must-try for any meat pizza lover.
Truffle Fries ($17) – Parmesan, Truffle oil
The truffle fries, with a sprinkle of Parmesan and drizzled with aromatic truffle oil, were a crispy delight that satisfied textue cravings. The freshly fried fries offered a blend of crispiness, rich truffle flavour, and the salty notes of Parmesan
Calamari & Cauliflower Fritti ($24) – With Lemon & Caper Aioli
The calamari and cauliflower fritti, served alongside a tangy lemon and caper aioli, had a perfect balance of crispiness and tenderness. The calamari was not overcooked and chewy, and the cauliflower was tender with a little bit of bite. Be sure to squeeze the lemon before digging in.
Meatballs Al Forno ($19) – Oven baked meatballs with sourdough crostini
The meatballs al forno, accompanied by sourdough crostini, had a tender texture with a juicy bite. However, the overall flavor profile of the dish felt somewhat ordinary compared to other meatball dishes I’ve tried.
Crab “Mamma Rosa” Rigatoni ($36) – Crab ragu, tomato and mascarpone “alla mamma rosa”, house made rigatoni
The crab rigatoni, featuring a blend of mascarpone, tomato, and crab ragu tossed with house-made rigatoni, offered the well-loved brininess of a seafood dish but was well balanced with the tomato ragu. The tanginess of the tomato and the richness of the mascarpone helped to cut through the brininess of the crab.
Lamb Ragu Mafalde ($34) – Braised lamb shank ragu, datterino tomatoes, roasted chilli, parmesan, Mafalda pasta
The Lamb Ragu mafalde, featuring a hearty braised lamb shank ragu infused with tomatoes and roasted chili, offered a deliciously robust flavor profile. The tender lamb imparted a subtle but flavourful gamey taste for a rich and meaty pasta experience.
Vodka Tortelli ($28) – House made tortelli pasta filled with roasted eggplant, tomato vodka sauce
The vodka tortelli, filled with roasted eggplant and served in a tomato vodka sauce, presented a unique but divisive flavor. While some may appreciate the the dish, the lingering taste of vodka might not appeal to everyone’s palate, making it an acquired taste.
Orecchiette Bolognese ($30) – Beef Ragu “alla Bolognese”, parmesan, orecchiette pasta
The orecchiette bolognese, featuring a beef ragu and topped with parmesan, highlighting the simplicity in Italian cuisine. The dish was comforting and satisfying making it an enjoyable and straightforward choice for pasta lovers.
